When art meets the future
"Migration: a human story’ is a series of emotive animations commissioned by People’s History Museum. The animations highlight the real life stories of migrants, including experiences of modern day slavery, seeking asylum on the basis of sexuality, and lived experience of a refugee camp and the resettlement process."

Our series of animations challenge visitors to confront often invisible issues. We worked in collaboration with the museum and the migrants themselves to ensure their story was told with respect, dignity and accuracy.
This textured storybook style gives a human, tactile feel to each animation. We developed a series of illustrated characters in a graphic style that the audience could personally connect with and even put themselves in their shoes.
“HSC worked tirelessly to ensure the portrayals of the people whose stories are shared were accurate in a collaborative manner with the Community Programme Team who all had differing experiences and ideas.”
