Heyohhhh!

We have a new 'Sound of the Studio' this month featuring brand new Sandwich pal George!

Below we've got another five hand picked albums for your ears.

Enjoy :)

Winston -

My pick for sound of the studio this month is “Angel” by Loyle Carner Featuring Tom Misch from the album ” Not waving, But Drowning.

A blend of British hip hop and chilled beats have been easing me into Monday mornings for the past couple of weeks. Also a great album for the BBQ weather.

Tool, my second favourite band, haven’t released an album in 13 years. This week, on August 30th their 5th album ‘Fear Inoculum’ comes out.

My song is the title track from that forthcoming record. The track and the record as a whole is all about overcoming and making yourself immune to fear (fear inoculum meaning a vaccine for fear).
It’s also the longest song to ever hit Billboards hot 100, so you might want to make sure you haven’t got any plans for the next 10 minuets.

Is it possible to overplay an album that’s not out yet? Definitely looking like it!
Gretel is a perfect Alex G track and gives me hope for his best album to pop up in September. Play it every day for the rest of the year!

Hannah -

My sound of the studio is Cate le Bon, Reward. I love this album, she has such a unique voice and style, weird and haunting but still really upbeat.
Home to you is my favourite track on the album. I am going to see her at the Brudenell on Wednesday for an early birthday treat :)

My choice has to be Purple Mountains “Maybe I’m The Only One For Me”. I welcomed the ex Silver Jews frontman David Berman back to music this year as he released his first music in over ten years.
Sadly Berman died by suicide only a month after the albums release and with lyrics like ‘The light of my life is going out tonight without a flicker of regret’ on the song ‘Darkness and Cold’ you can’t help but think it was his plan all along.
